A stunning bike and photographic tour of the historic center of Athens
Athens in the afternoon transforms into a photographers paradise as, the city’s monuments come alive with the golden glow of the setting sun as it caresses the Ancient Temples creating the perfect light for truly stunning photo opportunities.
This is an ideal and fun bicycle tour for all visitors especially for the photography enthusiast as it is well timed to give you the best lighting conditions, while discovering all the main sites of the historical center.
The Tour
Our evening bike tour adventure starts from the largest pedestrian street of Athens, located close to the Acropolis Museum, where your tour leader will give a briefing about the tour’s schedule.
We will begin by cycling through the National Gardens, an oasis right in the heart of the city, continuing towards the Presidential Mansion, guarded by the impressive Evzone Guards. Next, a short ride away, the site of the Panathenaic Stadium, where the first modern Olympic Games took place. Then, we move on to Zappeion Hall with its wonderful neoclassical architecture.
We continue and make a stop in front of the Temple of Olympian Zeus by Hadrian’s Arch, one of the best photo spots in Athens. After, we cross a pedestrian street passing by the new Acropolis Museum and the Acropolis Hill. We will reveal our “secret place” to enjoy a breathtaking panoramic view of the Parthenon.
During this tour, we will have a short comfort break.
Our bike tour continues with some remarkable stops in the Kerameikos, (Ancient cemetery) the Ancient Agora and the Roman Agora.
We move on through Plaka enjoying a lovely ride through this scenic neighborhood, with a visit of the Greek Orthodox Cathedral before winding our way back to the starting point, completing this amazing bike tour experience.
