A fantastic morning activity by bike enjoying the splendor of the historic city of Athens
A bike tour is a fun way to discover the highlights the historic center of Athens.
This is a perfect must-do activity especially for the first time visitor who wishes to discover Athens in an alternative way, cycling in and around the major monuments and hidden areas of our city.
The Tour
In the beginning your tour leader will give a short introduction about the tours schedule on the largest pedestrian walkways of Athens, just a short distance from the Acropolis. All our bikes are in an excellent condition and ready for a relaxed and enjoyable tour.
We begin exploring the city, passing the Acropolis Museum were your tour leader will give you helpful tips about visiting the Acropolis hill and the Parthenon.
We will make stops during the tour at all the main points of interest including The National Observatory, Kerameikos (the ancient cemetery), Thession, the Ancient Agora, the Roman Agora and the main Greek Orthodox Cathedral.
We will have a twenty minute refreshment/coffee break with a chance to taste a traditional Greek dessert. After we will explore into the scenic neighborhood of Plaka and pass by a local market of souvenirs and small gifts.
Next, a nice shaded trail, through the maze of the National Garden after which, we a head on to one of the most beautiful streets were we will see the Presidential Palace, guarded by the impressive Evzone Guards. Our ride continues through to the Panathenaic Stadium the site of the first modern Olympic Games, then on to Zappion Hall to admire its truly magnificent Neoclassical architecture.
Our memorable activity comes to an end at one of Athens best photo spots, Hadrian’s Arch in front of the Temple of Olympian Zeus.
