Stroll the streets of the Plaka district, bathed in the evening light. Take advantage of this and capture some amazing photos of the monuments, before you make your way to the tavern.
After your short walk in the night air you will arrive at one of the oldest tavernas in this district. It has been owned and run by the same family for over 90 years and uses the same family recipes. Set in a picturesque area on the famous steps, the Acropolis looms above you. Frequented by locals and tourists alike, you will be enjoying an evening in the same place that famous Greeks used to visit such as Melina Mercouri and Onasis in the 1960’s.
Enjoy a glass of local wine as your table comes alive with the true flavours of Greece. The set menu will introduce to you Greek salad, cheese pies, spinach pies, fried courgettes and local bread. This is just for starters as you can choose from a variety of main dishes of meat (pork, chicken, beef or lamb) such as Moussaka or Souvlaki. Finish the meal with something sweet.
As you begin to taste the full flavours of these wonderful Greek dishes, prepare for the show of different dances from regions around Greece. Sit back and enjoy the food and wine and join in the dancing and learn the Sirtaki dance, known to many as Zorbas dance.
